Themers Guild +
A "discussion session" where we can exchange "trade secrets" on the ways that themers go about building a theme.
Agenda
- Theming Jumpoff: How I go about building a Theme
- Open discussion: How do you build a Theme?
- Pitfalls and stumbling blocks to avoid.
- Tools of the trade: there's more to dev than Firebug :)
- Top ....N tricks to save you time..
Goals
Participants should come away with new angles on how to approach theme building. There is no one "right" way to think about this (even though each of us knows that our way is the best , lol) we can share trade secrets (read: important information not documented but passed down through word of mouth) that can help us in our production.
Resources
Participants should think about their processes before the session: what they do that is effective and what tasks seems frustrating.
Right now, I am working with a new CSS generator found here: http://www.skybound.ca/ and I am pleased with the results. The latest version (less than a month old) is still kinda clunky, but the devs have been rather aggressive with updates and bug fixes. I also use this: http://www.blumentals.net/webuilder/ as my IDE... and it is rock solid.
Viking Hats are not required, but are encouraged.
